How To Know For A FACT They Really Care

We say it often in a casual greeting, 'Hi, how are you?' However, when was the last time you greeted someone this way and REALLY cared about how they were? After all, you DID ask. The reality is, most of us don't care. Let me rephrase it. We DO care, but we have so many of our own cares on our plate that we really don't have the time or the energy to put someone else's care on our plate. This is why people don't like to get involved because handling your cares AND my cares is perceived as simply too much. Here's the thing. The child of God was never designed to hold on to his own cares. They belong to God. He says give them to me because I care for you. When you care for someone you show them by carrying some of their load. We were placed here to help bear one another's burdens. We can do it too, because God bears OUR burdens and cares.

1 Peter 5:7 - casting all your care upon him, for He cares for you.

Every Issue Has One Of These ... Find It!

There are no badges or rewards given to Christians who can carry the most burdens and cares the longest. Sorry, there just isn't. The reason there isn't is because we were never instructed to carry that kind of weight long term. We are to be the facilitators of cares. An issue comes to you and you give it to God... end of transaction. Every issue has a 'forward' button on it. Find it and use it to forward EVERY issue and EVERY care to God. Not only can God handle it, but that's how He shows that He cares for you. Allow Him care for you today. Forward ALL your cares to the correct department... The God Department!

1 Peter 5:7 - Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

God - Saviour, King, ... Personal Assistant?

One day last summer I decided to be 'that' husband and accompany my wife as she shopped... all day. I was COMPLETELY overwhelmed, frustrated and just plain tired, but I made a commitment so I stuck with it. On the way home I asked my wife, 'How can you shop ALL DAY??'. She replied, 'Well, it was easy. You were holding the bags.' In life, there are only so many things we are able to carry. You have to be wise about what those things are. The unknown person that dinged your car door in the parking lot may be frustrating, but can not be undone. Is it worth carrying all day? One of the promises of God is that He would never leave or forsake us. That means He's always there. Why not let  Him carry your baggage? Your life's journey is complex enough. Give God your stuff. He's cool with it. It's one of the perks of Him being your friend.
